Wonder Book, the company providing Books by the Foot, buys all books, DVDs, and CDs every day from 10am to 6pm at our retail locations (Frederick, MD; Hagerstown, MD; Gaithersburg, MD). Although no appointment is needed, our book buyers can only evaluate items after seeing them in person, so we cannot provide estimates or appraisals over the phone.
We will make a cash offer on the entire collection, although for common collections we may offer very little per box. For books, we buy many different subjects in both hardback and paperback. Our buyers are trained in what sells at our stores, but if our offer is too low, we can provide our opinion on other potential outlets for your items.
For large collections of over 1200 items or valuable/rare collections, we may make house calls. We also purchase large quantities from schools, libraries, institutions (including remnants from charity sales)—both regionally and internationally.
